Thanks Rich for a superb quiz, look forward to next year! 2nd place goes to our team 'Sobernewts' made up of Dave and Josie, Stephen and Wendy. Out of interest how many did Jen/Dave and Rachel/Tim get? We had 9 out of 12!

Merry Christmas to everyone in our lovely little club, see you all on the water soon 🚣‍♂️🚣‍♀️

Congratulations to all and many thanks. For those of us like me with no crossword brain please could someone explain numbers 8 and 10?

Rich, thank you so much for this. I went half mad trying to get my brain to think laterally and failed completely.
I was telling the truth when I said I only got the answer by copying the others 😊 . You need a replacement third prize winner!
HAPPY CHRISTMAS 🎄

Anne, question 10 is the first letter of each sentence.
Only worked that out after seeing the answer! I think question 8 is found by looking at a landline phone to see which letters belong with each number. Then 3937 could spell EYES ... and the clue says if you can't see the answer

Well  done Rich for the quiz. I was particularly impressed that we had to wait until the final clue to get a definitive answer. Very clever.

I am glad you gave us weekends off as it took us 13 days (and 2.5 pints of Pickled Santa for me) to solve question 1. It also took us 12 days to realise that the answer to question 3 was not Bramble Bank; the "B" just did not look right. That was only solved thanks to a combination of Google Maps and an old OS map that showed the location of the old Calshot Spit Light Ship.

Saturday row details will be forthcoming btw; current thoughts are for a trip to Langstone Harbour (and maybe sausages).

Merry Christmas to everyone.

Cheers

Dave
