As Zoe Remnant, gig club fund raising person says...
Voting has started for the Aviva Community Fund awards. The Aviva Community Fund finances over 500 projects across four different fund levels and three categories, giving awards to communities throughout the UK. Many Cutters members are also members of the Gig Club - new name is Langstone Pilot Gig Club. We regularly get 3 boats full of Juniors out on Saturday mornings, that 18 Juniors between 13 and 16, with the full range of backgrounds. The Gig Club project is called "Rowing - Oarsome Fitness and Fun" and it is up to all of us to use social media to gain votes. Please let people know about the entry by sharing the project details on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and other social media platform, or by sending emails to our friends and asking them to vote. https://community-fund.aviva.co.uk/voting/project/view/4-2614 If we get enough votes from friends, family and supporters in our community our project could receive £1000 towards some new oars which, as barely a week goes by without an oar being out of action due to repair, refurb or tlc, we desperately need. Fundraising: Aviva Community Fund - Use ALL of your 10 votes!!

How about a bit of compassion for under privileged young people?
It shouldn't be a competition Andrew and the Cutters gave the gig club a lot of support last year. Oarsome chance are a registered charity and I was asking members to support a registered charity which works with under privileged and challenged your people who have troubled back grounds and lives. I don't think that is much to ask and we The Cutters did you guys proud last year, hence there is plenty of room to help and support a very worthy local cause. Cheers Andy |
Hold on Andy - no one said anything about a competition !
People are big enough to make their own choices of who they would like to support. Neither You nor I can tell them who to support we can just out forward choices.

Alternatively was your choice and is and was a divisive and competitive term Andrew.
There is plenty of cake to go around and Oarsome Chance is a registered charity. I was asked to spread the word to try and raise ten thousand pounds for Oarsome chance and I am surprised that a registered charity fund raising request has attracted instant competition from you. The kids that Oarsome Chance work with are often very challenged and need all the help they can get. I was merely trying to assist them in that pursuit as indeed Rachel did with Melons. Cheers Andy |
Can you guys take this off-line please? Mike Gilbert
