BRING A FRIEND 28/04/18

Christine
Dear All,

We had a very successful bring a friend day last year and so have planned another one for Saturday 28th April.  We will ready the boats at 9.30am and start rowing around 10am.  There will be a BBQ at lunchtime.  We will also buy cans of drink to sell, any alcohol can be bought from the Royal Oak.  In order to buy an appropriate amount of food please can you sign below if you are coming and also how many friends and family are coming too, if you are participating in the BBQ.

We hope this will be a fun social event.  We will need people willing to cox, row and attend to the BBQ.  People that can chat to new attendees to make them welcome and share your knowledge of rowing etc.
We could even do some knot tieing Geoff if you are around.

There will be some leaflets in the box in the garage, if you want to take them to give away.

Thanks for all you participation and help.
Christine

Hi Christine,
Both Polly and I are planning on attending.
We’ve mentioned it to about 8 friends so far, but had no firm commitments from any of them yet. But I’ll keep chasing them.
Thanks
Matt

Christine I’m going to try and get a group of Emsworth Joggers along. We’ll do a mini duathlon - 5k run along the the shore - row and socializing - run back. I’ll let you know when I get an idea of numbers interested.

Sign up is looking really encouraging.  Weather not quiet so! Maybe a few showers!!!   Does anyone have an easy to put up gazebo, so that if it rains, there will be something other than trees for people to shelter under. Also if anyone else wants to bring a cake we can continue to sell to raise money for the melon charity. But not essential as will have the BBQ.
Jobs will be assigned on the day as we see the need.
Thanks Christine

Thank you everyone for your support and offers of help. Help will be needed in confident coxing, and rowers. It will be a bit breezy, but we've  all done that regularly, so no worries there.
There maybe a shower or too, so bring a coat, umbrella.  I will coordinate people  into the boats, they need to have signed a waiver form first.  We will do the mix of new people with existing rowers.  Children up to 16 years must wear a life jacket.

Bobby will be coordinating BBQ, cake and fizzy drink sales, so a team of helpers needed there. These people can come and have a row, we just need to swop about roles as appropriate. Money profit will be apportioned between the Melon charity and the club, will let you know how that is after the event.

Looking forward to fun with you all.

Sorry for late response. No luck in persuading friends to come. John will be there in the morning but Liz not until about 11 due to another commitment.
