Lovely idea. However with our tide restrictions, it would be a quick dash down, half an hour ashore and a return. Unless we could leave out craft at northney.

Last year we towed to Northney and launched and recovered from there Mark. Hence we were able to enjoy several hours of fun and games with the Giggers. If we launch from The Mill 2.5 hours before HW on a 4.8 Tide we should have five hours of the tide to work with, but that would only give us two hours on the beach. It took a good hour and a half to row down there, get ashore and safely recover the boats.

Hope this helps.

Best
Andy

Dee, good question, the gig side are definitely going.  Is there someone who wants to organise joining them or even our own local row? I'm afraid I cannot commit as no baby arrived yet!  Mark would you like to take this one on?

I think we are going out so not rowing, the forcast says a passing shower or two! Wind gusts upto 28mph  So maybe a showery blustery day.  So I would suggest if anyone wants to lead a row tomorrow, feel free to start a new post.  But I think going to East head maybe not be the best destination.

....although as an alternative, Cutters members are also welcome to drive round to the big East Head car park, the picnic and games being held on the beach  'the hinge' itself so as to be convenient for the erm conveniences. Park at the far end

We will be making our way down to The Hinge at Wittering for A day of fun and games, Tug O'War, sack races, rounders, three legged races all members and families are welcome to participate. Some by rowing to and from the event, others by driving down to the main public car park at Wittering.

Two Club Flags will mark the landing site and venue for those traveling.

there is a map on Sharon's post ...above
