Bembridge Gig Fest - 20th -21st June 2020

Dear Happy Cutters

Here is an opportunity to row to Bembridge on or before the 20th June take part in some rowing races around Bembridge Harbour stay on the Isle of Wight over night ( camping may be an option) and then row back on the 21st . The event is organised by Yarmouth Gig Club and seeks to include gigs, galleys and all traditional fixed-seat rowing boats ( Yarmouth has a Solent Galley ) there will be entertainment in the evening and food etc.

If you are interested rowing , drinking and eating  and a trip to the Isle of Wight this might be the trip for you so please express your interest . The aim is to attract as many clubs as possible.

Please let me know if you would be interested in either rowing too and from Langstone to the Isle of Wight ( or both) taking part in racing over there , staying over night etc . I will forward  more information as I receive it. Regards Colin

So it looks like two crews at the moment.
I've had a look and accomodation is a bit tricky as most of the very local places are booked and the cottages which are left require full payment up front which just at the moment looks a bit risky in case it has to be cancelled (let's really hope not!).
I think we might need to arrange someone to take a car over if we are all thinking of camping just to take all the kit.
Could you post below to say whether you are planning to camp or hoping to book a hotel or share self catering please? This is likely to be for the Friday and Saturday nights.
