The Bembridge Gig/Galley Fest 2025 is scheduled for June 14th and 15th. It's an event for gigs, galleys, and other traditional fixed-seat rowing boats, organised by Bembridge Harbour Authority and Yarmouth Gig Rowing Club. The event features informal racing, including 2km straight-line sprints and timed racing around St Helens Fort. There's also a social gathering on Saturday evening at the Duver Marina with food, drinks, and live music.
Course MapThe Gig club take a boat to this every year and really enjoy it. They suggest to people that they could go for Sat or Sun but the whole weekend is great fun and then you will need to book somewhere to stay. There are caravan/campsites close by.
We would need a volunteer to tow the boat over on the Ferry as it's not possible to plan to row over and back as you can't predict the weather!
