Dear All Thanks for all the responses and the interest which is great . We are taking 2 Solent Galleys over and will be arranging matters so all who want to take part can . Such as the demand is I have slightly too many for the 3 mile row on the Saturday so I have given priority to those not taking part in the Sunday row to take part in the Saturday Row However any one who wants to take part in the Sprint racing on Saturday can have a go. The idea is to mix and match teams and for you to try other boats as well so everyone who wants a row on Saturday will get a row in the Sprints . According to the notes crews need to be at Easterny Cruising Association by around 10 am . The briefing is at 11 am with the first race at 12 pm . The racing will run on over the afternoon and finish with the longer race which will be the Fairway Trophy ( 3 mile Row) . I suggest all those who have put their name down meet at Langstone at 9.30 and share cars to get to ECA for a lovely day out. IF you want to go straight to ECA please feel free to do so - They are offering a full English Breakfast for £5. THE Crews I have suggested for the 3 mile Race are Cheryl Wendy H Matt Polly Marcus Jack Lesley Kent Marilyn Rogers Tom Bennett Bobby Clayton We are happy for people to switch around to suit Please note they will be asking for donations of £1 per pint for Cockleshell Challenge Beer and £2 for a burger and all the trimmings at their BBQ with live entertainment at 8 pm from " The Three Belles" - Andrews Sisters Tribute Band Now once you have over come the hang over !!! on Sunday will be "The Cockleshell Challenge " a 7 mile race along Southsea Sea Front around Horse Sand Fort and Back . THE Briefing is at 9.30 so we need to be there for 9 am I would suggest meeting at 8.30 at Langstone unless you want to go to ECA under your own steam but if you do please can you let me know The teams I have suggested are Boat 1 Steve Woods Colin Rachel Tina Way Dee Christine There is a real chance Christine may not be able to take part as Grandmother hood is very close so if the expected happens Boat 1 will row with 5 ( Unless we have a substitute) Boat 2 Alison Kidd Nigel Andy Mac Dave Jenny Shahnaz I am happy for teams to chose which boat they want but if their is no agreement it will be decided by the toss of coin for more added interest and to be fair As far as the race is concerned it will start at 10.30 and is expected to last around 90 minutes so I suggest teams work on changes every 30 mins so every crew member rows for an hour and has 30 mins rest. The race will finish at 12 pm . There will be prize giving and then home Andy Mac is proposing that one or both of the Galleys could be rowed back in the Evening to Langstone and I will post on this separately Any queries my mobile number is 07793 838261 . I will be checking the Forum tomorrow but have a Rugby do in the evening from 7 pm so please get in quick Hoping the Rain subsides or we will need Noahs Arch Best Wishes Colin |
As I'm not rowing on the Saturday, I'll drive over with Geoff so we can support you still and be there to help with the boats . We have friends visiting so I've arrange for them to come watch and enjoy the day too .

I will need to take my car over as may have to go off at anytime. If I do Marcus will need a lift back! If there is anyone wanting to row in my place on Sunday that is fine. Otherwise I will be there baby on its way permitting.

Hi Colin
Just realised that all our GRR team will be there on Sunday: you, me, Dave, Steve, Rachel and Tina. It might be good to row together? Only a thought happy with what ever you decide. Hi Collin, I'm still a bit ropey from the chest infection but will be there with my best camera to take pictures. If anyone has any influence to get me on a safety boat (if there is any) it would be appreciated.
See you tomorrw ~ Ron |

Hi guys,
Polly and I are picking Ron and Cheryl up on the way on Saturday, so will meet you all there. But can squeeze another person/kit in for the way home should it be needed, perhaps Marcus, if you still need a lift back?! Anyway, the offer and space is there is anyone needs it. See you Saturday morning Matt |
