Cowes row Jan 2 NOTE MEET TIME NOW 0930

This post was updated on .
I am very pleased to say that the Henley Whalers have invited us to join them on their Icebreaker cruise to Cowes on Weds Jan 2. The forecast is for grey skies but moderate winds (F3/4) so for the first time in a couple of years it seems to be feasible.
We will meet at the boat park at 0930 to get the boats on trailers for launch from the old hovercraft slipway at Lee-on-the-Solent at about 1100. At Cowes we will tie up at the Trinity Moorings. Lunch will be at the Union Tavern. We will return to Lee at about 1500 and get back to Langstone at around 1600.
Please bring a life jacket.

I would love to come but have not been rowing for a couple of months so might not be that rowing fit.  If you are short of rowers then count in me in. Sue

If Sue reckons she's possibly not fit enough, then there's no hope for me (!) but I'd still like to be included on the "mad participant's" list* - please.

* note where the apostrophe is placed.... - I'm not implying anything about the sanity of the other rowers.
Yeah!

Miles would like to come so that makes 16 - two spaces still available. In view of the fitness concerns that have been raised, I would point out that the row is not as long as might appear - about the same as rowing to HISC.
