Don't you just love rowing!

Sunday morning

The crew, Ian, Paul, Colin, Steve, Errol and Tim met at 6.30am to find a clear blue sky and a flat calm and balmy harbour.

6.40am Bembridge slips silently (well as silently as Ian M can do) away from the Mill, under the Bridge, through the railway arch and then turns on the after burners and powers off across Langstone Hourbour and out into the Solent before a graceful sweeping turn and the return, Colin calling for 40 firm😚, Paul for 90😢and Ian not to be outdone 100😤.

The stroke was at times majestic, the bow wave cutting across the ebbing tide and disturbing a resting seal who slid under the water and put up a shoal of mackerel.

Greetings exchanged with the crew of the newly renamed Gig "C Shel" out on an excursion row and a warm down through the moorings.

8.30am job done, Bembridge back under the covers and off to Steve's for smoked salmon and eggs!

What's not to like about that😎

We really must get down to some serious training soon if we are mount a challenge to the "old gits" this year.
