ECA Cockleshell Challenge Sunday 9th June 2019 Teams and Arrangements - UPDATED

We will be towing over 2 Galleys for this event on the day.

Teams are as follows:

Dee
Jane D
Shanaz
Elaine
Tina
Joan

Marion
Bobby
Tom
Nigel
Colin
Martin S

Can Dee and Tom please take control for working out who will be in what end of their boat. I guess you should aim for just 2 swap overs (so everyone gets an equal share of rowing) but will leave that up to the crews to decide.

Steve and Rachel will kindly tow over one galley each.

Hopefully as part of the Saturday row, we will have galleys on trailers in readiness.

Arrangements for the day are as follows (please monitor the post for any changes):

08:00 Meet in boat park to load one galley and secure trailers.
08:45 - 09:00 Arrive at ECA and launch boats
09:00 - 10:00 Breakfast in ECA clubhouse
10:00 Safety briefing
10:30 Race (fortunately you will be re-entering Langstone harbour with the tide this year)

BTW - you are up against a ladies team from Langstone Pilot Gig club + potentially teams from ECA and Hamble.

How are the classes worked out Dave ?

Hi Dee. I believe boats will be handicapped such that the slowest boats go off first, in a similar way to the Great River Race. It is then based on who gets over the finishing line first. I assume we will be handing over the Ladies trophy created by Tom to ECA and then it is up to your team to win it back. No pressure!!!!!
