Hi all,
The third event in the Celtic Winter Series will be the Emsworth Slipper Regatta on Saturday 7th March. The invitation is below, there are three races at this regatta, Open, Ladies and Mixed. Please post below if you would like to take part. Fellow Celtic Rowers, The ESSC Celtic Winter Series Rowing Regatta will take place on Saturday 7 March 2026 The timing of the regatta is as below. We propose Visiting Clubs road trailer their boats to ESSC, we will reserve space in the Club Car Park and the Dinghy Park for trailers to be stored. We assume ESC will be rowing their craft round. If your club wish to row or motor your craft to ESSC the day before, please let us know, we can arrange secure storage of the craft. Non-rowing supporters, are very welcome to also attend. There will be 3 races contributing points to the Celtic Winter League • Open Race - anyone • Women’s Race – 4 women rowers • Mixed Race – at least 2 women rowers Each club may enter all three races or less depending on crew availability The race course will be Start Hut to A Marker Dropped 2/3 way between Fowley and Wickor to Little Deep to Finish line. However, weather conditions may cause this to change on the day. A full coxes briefing will be given on the day at 12:05. The briefing will include race rules, course and method of starting races. Please complete and return, by 27 Feb 2026, the attached Club registration summary form for your club. The cost for entry into the regatta for any cox or rower participating is £10.00 per person. Payment by debit or credit card will be taken on the day at registration. The reason for requesting age of rower, is to input results to the Ouse Yardstick. Complimentary tea/coffee and biscuits will be available. Hot food, such as bacon rolls in the morning and cheesy chips or soup, may be purchased from the ESSC caterers on the day. (see Menu Below) Please ensure all participants, rowers and coxes have personal buoyancy equipment with them in the boat. The race officers may instruct that personal buoyancy is to be worn on the day. Please bring two VHF radios with you and tune to channel P4 Reason for two radios • One for cox of boat • One for Rowing Captain to ensure crews are on pontoon or at start as race control will give orders via VHF. • A decision, based on forecasted wind speeds will determine if the event is not going ahead.
