Another non-Langstone event to interest you.
“
The English Raid”, established in 2010, is a peripatetic event, having taken place on a variety of interesting coastal and inland waters throughout UK.
“Raids” are aimed at the “Sail and Oar” fraternity, but would appeal to any dinghy sailor, and could equally well be enjoyed entirely under oar.
Take some cutters! This year it returns to The Clyde from Monday 22 July to Saturday 27 July.
Accommodation will be at The Blairvadach Outdoor Centre, Rhu.
Boats will be based at the nearby Rhu Marina.
Explorations will include The Clyde, Gare Loch, Holy Loch, and Loch Long. All are “sheltered” tidal waters, amid mountainous scenery.
Full details and application are through the
Raid England website.
Or contact me for a personal viewpoint – I’ve had the pleasure of attending each “English Raid” since 2010.
I am not one of the organisers, only an interested party in as much that I will be attending again, with “Henley Whalers” and “Molly” (and Geoff asked me to create
the map.)
