Excursion Row Thursday 26th PLEASE NOTE CHANGE OF PLAN

This post was updated on .
Alan Harding claims work as an excuse for not being able to do the midweek row and has asked me to step in so here goes.
Thursday seems to be the ideal day weatherwise, dry with a light F2/3 northwesterly.
How about a little trip up the River Arun, starting at Littlehampton, passing through lovely Arundel and having an early lunch at the Black Rabbit?
On Thursday, Littlehampton HW 11.08 and Arundel HW 12.10, so here's the plan:
Meet boat park at 09.00 to get whichever galley is on the trailer out and hitched up. Depart 09.30.
Launch Littlehampton for a 10.30 departure. We should be at the Black Rabbit at about 11.30.
Depart Black Rabbit 12.30 to catch the tide downstream before it gets too hectic (it is quite a big spring).
Arrive back at Langstone approximately 15.00.
If there are more than six people interested, we may be able to take more boats if someone is willing to tow.

If you are taking a 2nd boat and more people sign up, John would like to come,  but unfortunately I can't as I have a dentist appointment (unless I change it...)

Chris I would like to row Thursday, but also have things to do, so if there are more signed up than boat places  l will be happy to row in the harbour, the meet time would also be 9am.  If there are people that cannot get in this excursion or want to be back around lunchtime.  But otherwise I can do your row and be more efficient on jobs!

Hi Christine & Chris,
Sounds a great trip to Arundel, Chris, but cannot make the time. However if Christine you want to make a trip in a teifi around the harbour I can make 10.45am start. Notice a ht of 5.1 @ 11.15am so should be fun launching the boat at that time!! Sorry can't start at 9am. Could go for 60 to 90 mins rowing. What do you think?

Chris as you have two boats full including a passanger, I will do the Langstone harbour row at the moment with just Richard.  Do you want me to post a separate post in case there are others for just a morning row?   I have ended up with a much busier week than expected and there could be others the same.   We will meet 10.30/10.45am and be back around 12.30pm.

Hi everybody,
Our man in Arundel, Andy, has sent me a picture of the bridge at high tide today:

It seems the river is very swollen after the recent rains and there is a lot of floating debris.
So I have reluctantly decided to postpone the excursion. Instead we will go to the Marina Bar for elevenses. Meet 09.00, return no later than 13.00.
Sorry for any disappointment - we will do the Arun some day!
