Coastal Rowing Academy Club Celtic Regatta – Saturday 4th October 2025
CRAC warmly invites clubs to the first round of the 2025/26 3 Harbours Celtic Winter Series (CWS) at Northney Marina on Saturday 4th October 2025.
Below is a summary of the key information.
Race Categories
• Ladies race (for CWS league points)
• Open race (for CWS league points)
• Mixed race (for CWS league points) - 2 men and 2 women
• Ladies B race (non-scoring)
• Open Novice race (non-scoring). This race is aimed at those with little experience of racing and is not open to those who have raced in a point scoring crew at any of the 2024/25 CWS events.
Coxes can be male or female in any boat.
Race Course
Racing takes place off the north beach at Northney Marina. The entire course is within sight of the beach.
The “Saltings” course (blue line in picture below) is a 2.5km circuit in Chichester Harbour; from the Hayling Bridge eastwards through the New Cut; west through Church Rythe and around the Saltings to the A mark near the Marina North Slip. Finishing boats head to the beach for crew changes. Each race takes around 20 minutes to complete.
There will be a shortened course for the Novices race (pink line in picture below), starting from a Buoy mark round to the Finish - a distance of approximately 1.5km.
Race Order and Timings
The races will be run as a time trial. Boats will run in heats with a maximum of four boats starting together in lanes. Every boat will be timed individually to decide overall ranking.
