Five go to Scotland ....

Five Cutters crews completed the Scottish leg of the 5 miles from home race series on Friday and everyone pulled together to make it a success
Special thanks to Peter and Chris for saving the Gladys crew at the eleventh hour. Sue for being everywhere and willing to do anything to help. The Sallyport crew and Geoff for rowing Sweare Deep over to the Marina for the the evening crews, Aileen for stepping in to cox, and Tim and Doug for rowing the whole thing twice in one day!!

The weather on Saturday literally blew our plans away but Friday was a beautiful day to be out on the water.

We mastered Strava and recorded a very respectable set of times. The Gladys crew deserve a special mention for getting a Claydon to move that fast!

The results can be found here Link to results On the right hand side of the page you will see a write up of the race and a link to the full results.

If you missed out this time don't worry the next leg is only 4 weeks away!!

See you on the water soon!

Surely there is a paragraph or two missing from this report🤔

There was, I believe, someone who actually rowed the event THREE times, twice in one day, coxed a crew and made all of the complex arrangements to ensure that everyone else was able to enjoy this massive step on the return to rowing “roadmap”?

Cheers

Tim

I can only second Tim's additional paragraph. Rachel did an amazing job. Even to organise crews in the first place only for the plans to be blown away and a reorganisation needed. She was there for the rows and rowed at the last minute on Friday morning knowing she had another row in the afternoon.  Many many thanks for all Rachel does for the club.

It was great fun morning thanks to Sallyport crew & Racheal for saving the day & stepping into row for us
Friday was definitely the best day, although took so much organisation to get crews sorted because of weather
Think we all feel you done an amazing job Racheal without you sorting it we would never been able to take part
Sure you were glad when it was over well done &
Thanks again

And a huge thank you from me to Rachel and all the crew of Sallyport.  They accommodated an injury by allowing me to cox, whilst Rachel took my place rowing.  What a great team!  Let hope the weather plays ball in June.

Thank you Rachel for all the hard work in organising this event which was great fun and good humoured. It's all about taking part, not winning says she who's boat didn't win.
