Ahoy Cutters.
Well, we are on the way. The fleet refurbishment has begun. With our long suffering bosun Geoff, leading the charge, we have successfully got Sallyport to Andrew Olivers yard for some over due TLC. The result has meant that she will be staying there longer than expected, which has meant some creative project management, to make best use of the space we have procured for the work.
This change has seen Lotty come in for a full makeover and she is now polished, varnished and painted ready to grace the Langstone Harbour waters. Great work by everyone who was stood up , stood down and stood up again to make this happen. Big shout out to Chris W for his towing availability at short notice.
Langstone Lady is now sitting pretty in the shed, having been brought up the list at short notice and got from our yard to Itchenor in record time by Pointer Haulage, supported again by Cutters who were not supposed to be there, you know who you are.
We will have at least a week rubbing down and varnishing her and whilst work is under way and we have numbers up till and including 28th November, it maybe that I will post again, shamelessly, for you chums to step up again. I’ve seen such a great response and I’m reaching out to all of you moving forward to give me a day if you can, so that others can have a break.
If you are on Facebook please check out the updates, people are smiling and are dry and eating cake as well as working.
I’ll end this update with a nod, again, to Geoff who has been present everyday and inbetween. So to all of you who have rubbed down, varnished up, and eaten out. Thankyou.
