In come us two characters, who are both over the hill,
We'd like to come and join you, so a boat that you can fill,
We'll put our oars in properly, right into the rowlocks,
We promise then to row in time, and talk a load of .....

(in other words, yes please Mark)

Room for me, room for me?
Cried a young fella from Chi.
I’ll be wrapped up warm and Christmassy,
With Rosie cheeks and bright of eye.

It’ll be unlike me to come along and not chatter
At the sight of orange boots,
The swans will all scatter

I’ll dip a bit and catch a crab or two
I’ll even bring mince pies
For us all to chew

(That’s a yes for me too please Mark)
Thanks

I'll join you on this cheery row, up the channel we will go
A little bit of banter, a lot of friendly chat
Let's hope we don't run aground
And call the Cox a '....'

Oh heck now I need to think of a rhyme,
When I really don’t have enough time!
I’m already in a bit of a tizz,
Trying to solve Rich’s Christmas quiz.
So for Friday I’ll just say yes please
And join you for a row on the seas!

(Just me thanks Mark - Josie)

Yes please from Anne
To row's a pleasure
Round cone and can
To keep strict measure (possibly, sometimes)
The Christmas rush I put aside
To join my friends at top of tide.

Thanks Mark

Hi Mark
From o'er the hill I come a'canter,
Just to join the playful banter.
Is that rumour now I hear
Just our Matt to buy the beer.

Oh dear I did not know it
Seems every rower is a poet
Every oarsman is a bard
Well all row well and pull quite hard

Yes please both Andrew and Julie
On Yule tide eve the ores are out
The geese are around us feathering out
The sea is flooding in then out
Now a short day and the sun is out.

A cutter new to the crew
Was attacked by a seal whilst at two
As the oar passed his seat
It pulled out his feet
And ejected him into the blue

Coming…prob not going to row at 2 though

There was a young! lady called Jo
Who found out she quite liked to row
So being a nutter
She became a cutter
And would like to give this row a go

I’ve not rowed much this year
And would welcome some cutters cheer
But if the boats are all full
And there’s not a spare oar to pull
I’ll wave from The Mill with a beer 😊🍺

How lovely it would be
To be in a rowing boat out on the sea
But not for me I'm afraid
Work to attend, so wages are paid.
Hope you enjoy your time on the water
Why I stay under bricks and mortar.
How lovely it would be, to be on the sea
Whilst colleagues solve the quiz for me!

Have a good row and a great Christmas!

We’d love to come and join in the fun
But on Friday we’re having our grandson
We wish you all lots of cheer
And look forward to rowing in the New Year.

While rowers pulled upon their oars
All seated in their boats
The showers did not make them pause
Or put on extra coats.

'Pull hard ' called cox, for mighty dread
Of missing wine and beer
Urged all; then, soon ashore
They joined in festive cheer.

Happy solstice, Christmas and New Year
(and thanks, Mark and all)
