To follow on from Mark T's post: Assuming the weather will be forecast to be warm, sunny and not windy, is anyone up for a full day excursion to East Head beach on Wednesday 4th June, to join Slipper and other rowing clubs? If the weather does not meet that given, the row will not go ahead as over 5 hours on a beach in less favourable weather will be far too long.
The timetable for the day will be as follows (slightly different timings from Mark's as low/high tides are slightly later in Northney):
08:25 Meet at Boat Park
08:40 Set off for East Head (with the tide).
10:10 Arrive East Head
Spend day on beach with rowers from Slipper club and other clubs for games, swimming, BBQ, etc.
15:50 Depart East Head for Langstone (again with the tide).
17:20 Arrive back at Langstone; high tide is at 19:26
You will need to bring some food, drink and sun lotion and maybe some form of shelter if you do not want to be out in the sun all day.
Please sign up if interested; if you have any games that you can bring, please indicate that on the post.
We will only have limited access to the forum over the next 10 or so days, so we might be a tad slow to respond if anyone has any questions.
