GRR Certificates

Does anyone know how to get hold of a GRR certificate please?  Mike Gilbert does not have them.  Thank you Michael

I think they get posted to you Michael but I might be wrong.

They would have been collected when our 'flag' was handed back in and an envelope passed to whoever did that... ? Nigel or mark perhaps?

...usually the cox or captain of each individual boat goes to the tent at the end of the race and picks them up on the day, in an envelope by crew or boat name, unless that has changed.

Hi Michael,
The Certs were in the hands of Mark after the race. I extracted mine at that time and assumed that Mark had distributed the others at that time. Presumably he still has your cert and also the race brochure* (which in the past has traditionally gone to the team captain (if the team is made up of people who have rowed before), or to the newest crew member if not. I guess that is you!

* only one race brochure is given "free" to each team on registration. Further copies can be bought at the race venues at ca £3. Last year I had my bag with all the team brochures in it stolen on the way to the race, and so had to buy replacement copies for each of our 6 competing teams! Now I clutch my bags very closely when I'm on the tube!!!

I didn't have the envelope of cirtificates. I think Steve Woods took them back when he towed a boat home.

... However last minute crew changes were not accommodated so unless you were listed with another boat you may have to request one from the GRR organisers

Hi Michael

We had a glitch with the certs a couple of years back and I rang the GRR organisers who were very helpful and posted them to me. We too had to make a crew name alteration on the certs and they were very accommodating. Check out the number on the GRR web site = 020 8398 8141

I am pleased to say Sarah and Rose, made me a certificate right away yesterday, mailed it and emailed a copy. So very kind and helpful. I sent them a picture of my Great Grandfather's medallion as it was presented by the Waterman's and Lightermans Almshouses fund.. Michael
