On packing the boats on the last row before lockdown. I noticed gates undone on lady. I was then told of a problem with one gate. It wouldn’t shut. On closer inspection the pin was bent. If it had been shut it wouldn’t have happened. I removed it. A kiss with my large hammer and a metal block straitened if. It could have been a problem as I don’t carry my block and hammer in my pocket.
Solution to the problem. Coxes need to make sure they are shut, as they are in charge of the boat. Why is it only me who tell people to shut the gates? Coxes need to be aware of the boat and be in charge when recovering and launching and parking them at stops. Geoff
