Thankyou Nigel for your input today. I agree. If you are happy to replace the split ring on the bung that is great.

This has probably happened because we took her bung out when we went to Ireland -  I did not want to add copious amounts of Irish rain to my towing weight. It probably hadn't been removed for years before that! When did you last hear anyone say "is the bung in" when launching Gladys?
