Great River Race 2014

Richard H
Hi
Below are details of this year's Great River Race.

Langstone Cutters and Gig Club Great River Race entry form 2014
The Great River Race is on Saturday 27th September 2014 starting at 12.40pm from London Docklands and rowing up to Ham House a distance of 21.6 miles (with the tide).    You can enter either just for the fun and satisfaction of taking part or to be competitive and try to come back with silverware.   Last year our supervets’ team (over 60’s) came back with silver as did our ladies veteran team.    To enter at the discounted rate our entry has to be completed by early May and therefore we (some of the committee) need to start putting people into teams etc by the end of April.   It will be an early start from Langstone (7.30ish!!! – time to be finalised).

Therefore if you would like to take part in this year’s GRR, please can you complete the form below and return it to me (Richard Harrison) by Sunday April 27th together with a cheque/cash for your entry fee.    The adult entry fee is £55 and includes £7.00 towards the costs of towing the boats to/from London.  The under 18’s entry fee is £35 including a £5 contribution towards towing.  (Please make cheques payable to LCRC).   Nearer the time we will be organising coach transport to London for the race which will cost aprox £25 per person.

Yes I would like to take part in the GRR 2014 and I would prefer to row in the following type of boat (please number your preferences in order 1, 2, 3 etc and put an X beside any boat you would prefer not to row in).   The committee will do their best to try to accommodate everyone’s wishes and will inform members of the proposed teams before finalising entries and banking cheques.  Entries received after 27th April will be allocated where there are places remaining rather than by preference choice.  If you would like to enter for a particular class/category such as veteran ladies (over 40’s) then please indicate this on your entry form

Full name.....................................................................................................................
Date of birth (sorry I really do need this).............................................................
Boat preference (*** to row in a gig you need to negotiate the hire of a gig before entering)
Boat type (in preference order please)

Any class/category preferences.......................................................................................
Please return to Richard Harrison, 28 First Avenue, HAVANT, PO9 2QN by Sunday April 27th 2014
