Talking to the organisers, it seems very little has been done to cater for staying overnight beyond providing moorings for the boats. Even camping seems to be difficult. Apparently the nearby hotel may be laying on a BBQ.
So I suggest it will be best if we go up on each day.
Day 1 starts at 09.00 at Hurley which is 1.5 hours drive, but I suspect the first event is a presentation of Magna Carta Foundation of Our Precious Democratic Freedoms yadayada so we can probably get there a bit late. We will need to take at least four cars so one can be left at Maidenhead for use in taking the drivers back to Hurley.
The same on Sunday except that we will have to get the trailers to Runnymede. Luckily, the actual row finishes in the early afternoon so we won't be coming back at midnight.
Any other ideas?

The organisers would like us to dress in medieval costume but stuff that for a game of knights and wenches.
I suggest we go in club kit with the addition of a proper rowing cap as bought for the Diamond Jubilee Pageant.
This time, however, it will simply have the Cutters logo on so anyone who wants one but isn't coming to the Magna Carta event can buy one too. They really look very good, the material is a good quality wool and polyester mix - many of you will have seen mine.
The cost is modest - I think last time it was £15 or something. For maximum effect we should all have one.
Is that idea acceptable?
If so, send me your head size. Details are here:

I am OK with dressing as the organiser prefers - even if just a Cap a feather.

It seems to me this, like the Pageant, is a one off and I am happy to have a unique Cap at £15....

If the direction of the flow is that we must each have one of these hats, then Debbie and I will go down-tide.

We too would like one of these unique hats - exactly the same as the one ordered by Mike and everyone else.

As to sizing, I can't see a size guide on the website - any good ideas please ?

I presume we have to source our own feather.

Hi Chris

I thought I was booked in for this though it looks like I've fallen off the list. But as my life has been somewhat turned upside down recently it's probably best I step back anyway.
