The solemn duty to organise this week's mid week row falls to me. Having looked at the weather and the tides, Friday 13th January looks like a reasonable day. It may be extremely cold but likely to be sunny with a force 3-4 North Westerly and chance of snow. Plan would be to meet at 09:30 HW is 11:36 with a 4.9 m tide. Destination and duration will depend on weather on the day. As it will be cold, and also as that day is my birthday, I though I would bring along some of Frances's cake and share a tot of whiskey with all.
I know we are not to use the forum for publicising personal things, but some of the Cutters are coming to a charity Barn Dance that I am organising in Havant on 25th Feb with a live band. Funds raised will go to Cancer Research. If anyone wants more details, please don't clog up this forum but email or phone me direct at 0777 226 3299 or md_taylor @live.co.uk
Hi Mark,
Unfortunately it doesn't look like I can make Friday, but I just wanted wish you a Happy Birthday mate!
Have a great one, and I'll see you soon.
Matt
Please be aware latest weather forecast for Friday is showing extreme wind chill and wings gusting up to 40 mph. 8 will turn up at 09:30 at Langston's as planned, but if latest conditions do not improve, we may have to abandon the row.
Sorry but got to pull a last minute quote together now for tomorrow lunchtime so going to have to cancel... and its not because its going to be cold!!!
Hi Mark, I just looked at Chimet and the wind is currently force 6 so I don't fancy it. You may decide to abandon. At home in Hambledon we had some snow last night and the roads are very icy, so I don't really want to drive down there. A pity as I haven't rowed for a week or two. Liz
Oooh decisions decisions. I don't want to go all that way and not get a row so Nicky and I will go for a walk later instead. Have a good one (or not, as the case may be).
