New: SUNDAY Open Row 09.00 with Coaching from Mike Gilbert & Colin McPhee

Hi All,

The forecast for this Sunday predicts dry weather with a light Northerly breeze, which suggests perfect conditions for the Open Row.

This Sunday's Team of Mike Gilbert, Colin McPhee, Dave and Jenny Myles is INCLUSIVE of Coaching and guidance for both sweep and sculling rowing techniques.

This is a great opportunity to improve technique and is very timely with the Hamble River Raid and Regatta season almost upon us.

Unfortunately, I am away in Devon this weekend and will not be able to attend, but wish you all a very productive and happy morning on the water.

During the summer months we are aiming to include coaching within the open row once a month on the first or second Sunday of the month, depending on dates of various events, races and regattas.

Hi Linda, yes the Sunday sessions are Open to All, you just turn up, and can bring a friend, with no pin money to pay.  

What you get is a Beachmaster organising things with a couple of 'designated experienced rowers' to help if we have new people turn up. Then you just jump in a boat and row around the 'saltings' with whomever is around... you can try all the boats - rowing and sculling, and go as often as you like... .

This first Sunday of the Month I will also be there, with Colin and we will help with some coaching and stroke improvement on the water... 

I may, if there is interest, also bring over Bella this weekend to get the Hamble River Rowers the opportunity to play...
