Row Report
Weather was sunny with a bit of cloud, a southerly F3 breeeze. HW 16.20. Both galleys set out shortly before 14.00, paddling down the mill channel as the width was insufficient to use the oars, showing that we can leave 2.5 hours before HW if necessary.
It took two hours to cover the 8 miles to Portchester, somewhat longer than has been achieved previously. As a result the picnic was curtailed and we left after 30min for the return row. There was still enough water to get the boats out on return. Then we finished the picnic with scones, clotted cream and strawberry jam.
Pin money £12 posted through the treasurer’s front door.
