Hi all,
After the success of the Hamble and Eastney events it's time to start planning our crews for Round Hayling. If you haven't taken part before it's a great event and good for building endurance for the Great River Race, although in some ways this one is harder. The race is about 13 miles long, takes between 2 and 3 hours and can be fairly tough, especially the stretch along Hayling seafront, depending on the conditions on the day. In the event of it being too windy on the seafront the race will be from Northney to the Mulberry Harbour and back.
We usually have 6 people in each boat with the stern three sharing the coxing and the bow three taking turns as passenger so you will need to be able to move about in the boat safely and row for about an hour continuously.
The cost of entry is £12 per person. Please sign up if you are interested in giving it a go and we will put crews together.
Hi Racheal
We have a team of 6 of us light minded old rowing souls that would like to take a galley out race together
Would this be possible please ??
Working numbers out looks like a galley available
Thanks 🙏 appreciate
