SATURDAY Row around thye Langstone Archipelago. Meet 15.00

Hi All,

We probably wont be able to launch the boats until about 15.15 on Saturday and we need to be back at the Mill by dusk @ 17.30

We should be able to enjoy a good two hour row before it gets dark and i am very keen to get the boats launched and away ASAP.

Forecast suggests a F 3/4 W / SW  breeze and cloudy.

Met Office prediction also suggests that rain will clear by kick off time.

Life preservers are recommended amd current water temperature is around 7C.

Please sign up in the usual way.

BEER can of course be taken in The Oak afterwards.

Andy, just as a suggestion, if there was a large sign up, so a Claydon was needed.  The Claydon crew could do a shorter row to take in launch and recovery time. Allowing the gallies to get down the harbour and back.

Yes please, if a Claydon is indeed possible.

There is low pressure, The tide could be earlier, higher and depart later, as long as a Northerly doesn't push it all to France.  See  http://www.ntslf.org/data/realtime?port=Portsmouth

Jonathan will arrive early to help with the Teifi/ Claydon.

My understanding is Geoff has finished with the Claydon on the trailer in the Boat Park and is hoping to get that one out and the other one in.

Could be at least re-launch is possible.

If we get one more crew signed up we can take a Claydon.

I have spoken to Geoff on the phone this afternoon and I will see how things work out on Saturday.

First and foremost this is a social row with only two hours daylight available and i dont want to get bogged down in moving Claydons around at the expense of the row.

Given the time of year and the unsettled weather at present i also want to be 100% confident that we have put Mabel securely back on her mooring, so please leave this with me and i will take a view on the day.

I told Geoff that we had little daylight to work with and he was happy with whatever call i make.

If we cant switch the Claydons on Saturday, we can perhaps do it the following wednesday or Thursday.
