Saturday 19th March: Random Racing Regatta

Last Autumn we were guests at the first Random Rowing Regatta at Itchenor SC, a great fun event with no prizes and no trophies. This year we are planning to support our own event with teh Academy and Dolphin as partners; just fun races over a short course around the the Saltings.

We are planning to take our Galleys plus one from Itchenor so we can race with 3 boats; our Celtic long Boat - plus boats from Itchenor and Dell Quay; Bursledon Gigs (from Hamble RRC and Tudor); Pilot Gigs from Chichester YC, the Academy; Coastal Quads from Itchenor, the Academy & Dolphin RC and possible 2 St Ayles Skiffs from the Academy and 1 from Bosham.

The idea is to form crews who will race off against other crews in quick fire racing and swap boats and do it all again... its very random and a lot of fun (weather permitting).

Rachel will be organising crews, so let her know if you are interested in taking part or just come along and watch for the fun of it..
