Saturday 25th race results - Langstone Lady/Sallyport in the 340/160 challenge.

It may interest today's intrepid band of jockeys and riders (sorry, coxes and rowers) that the results of the 340/160 Challenge are as follows:-

                             Langstone Lady             Sally port

1st run.                  08 min 51 sec.              10 min 50 sec.

2nd run.                  08 min 25 sec.              09 min 50 sec.

3rd run.                   09 min 01 sec.              09 min 40 sec.

After adjudication by the race committee (me), consultation of the VAR, and allowances for mistaken finish points, and a very unreliable referee's stopwatchbutton finger........
the above results were adjudged to be as reliable record of events as possible under the circumstances!

The above data may be used to provide a
Fastest run speed of 5.2 knots, and
Slowest run speed of 4.6 knots, and

Consistent improvement in rowing speed by all parties (allowing for the false stop/finish by Langstone Lady on run 3).

I think you should all be proud of your achievements today ( and hope that you may strive to improve on them in later training sessions). The referee, and analysis team ( Michael and Christine), hope you enjoyed it as much as we did!!!

Well organise Nigel, it was fun.  It certainly made us work hard to keep up with the galleys.   All the best to the GRR crews.  Christine
