Saturday 5th May 14:00 Prosecco and Cream Tea row to HISC

Dave M
Saturday afternoon looks pleasant and warm with light winds.

We will aim to row to HISC and enjoy a Prosecco and Cream Tea picnic on the beach. Based on my (not Jenny's) niggardly disposition, it would be good if everyone can contribute something to the picnic, especially homemade scones. We will bring a bottle of Prosecco, some clotted cream, some tea in a flask for the non-Prosecco rowers and some plates/plastic glasses.

As HISC is quite a row would be good if we could set off as soon after 14:00 as possible.

Please post in the usual way to sign up.

Dave & Jenny

For your information, Dave and Jenny, HISC is holding its Pennant series (day 1) races from 12.55 until circa 15.30, some youth training sailing (all afternoon) and preparation for a social event.     They will be busy! I would suggest landing as far away as possible from the landing pier and the youth launching area (i.e.  where we usually land).
On the way back you will probably meet the Emsworth Club dinghy race starting at 3pm. It's the last race in the Marsh Series of 7 races, so they will be quite keen to sail THROUGH YOU on a racing line straight to the next mark - rather than going around you! Remember to keep WELL clear of all the yellow (and other racing) marks!

Beware, also, that there is a Grumpy Old Man in the area who would very much like to accompany the scones on their outing (to prevent their escape!) but who doesn't yet know whether other commitments will prevent him from coming along.....

Yes please, I can make scones in morning if we need more than one lot, depending on numbers. Can definitely bring clotted cream & the jam plus more prosecco !

Is it too late to sign up for the row? I'll turn up anyway, and if the numbers are awkward I'll opt out - I've got plenty of other things that I should be doing, but it is such a wonderful day!
