The forecast for this weekend is not great with the wind increasing towards the middle of each day before falling. However, the forecast currently shows both days as being OK for rowing first thing. Saturday morning has a chance of some light rain showers, but we have plumped for that day as the average wind speed is lower and leaves the Sunday as a contingency day.
As we have recently enjoyed seeing the Menhirs at Carnac, we will continue our prehistoric theme with a visit to Flintstones for refreshments; we were reminded of the club's favourite Emsworth destination after our Morbihan row to Larmor-Baden, as most of the local community running the food and drink stalls were in Flintstones style fancy dress (I assume more in homage to the megalithic stones as opposed to the TV series).
High tide (a measly 3.69m) is at 09:58 on Saturday so we will meet at 08:00. We will aim to row up to Marker before heading down to Emsworth.
Please sign up if interested.
