Ship Inn Raft Race Day - 26th July

Mark and Katie at the Ship have invited us share in the day with them by displaying a boat on the Quay - alongside Bill ands the HYSTS team.

This event is a popular one in the Ship Calendar with 10-20 rafts involved, a band and lots and lots of young people having fun.

The timing suggests we can take a boat on trailer over from 11.00; set-up and have some people around with handouts and explanations. (We are not taking anyone rowing).

We do have time for a 'row past', and perhaps even a mock race! Timing as follows:

12:00 Row past of Rowing Boats: Celtic (CRAC), Galley (LCRC) and Pilot Gig (LPGC)?

12.30 Demonstration Races?: CRAC and LCRC have a Celtic on the water to show how we start, buoy turn and finish a race...

Boats away by 13.00.

HW: 13.40:

Raft Race: 14:00

I am happy to coordinate and will do some leaflets about coastal rowing in the 3 Harbours Rowing to give out...

Anyone around to help our for 30 minutes on the day on land? Or help row a Galley or Celtic.

I am sorry that I am not here that weekend.  It would be great if some of our members could put their names forward for this as, apart from it being a fun thing to do,  it would show our support for The Ship who have always been very supportive of us.
