Re: THURSDAY row 16.00 for Picnic @ HISC & Beer at The Oak
Hello Jill
If you felt comfortable with the bank holiday Monday excurison to Marker and Emsworth, you should be fine.
It is a nine mile row and if we only manage five in a boat, you should expect to row for an hour without a changeover. We naturally change every 20 minutes or so but unless we have six in the boat the changes are less frequent. We pause every twenty minutes for a change over and a drink.
Its a nice row, but the forecast was wrong and we are now expecting cloud throughout the afternoon and evening with a force 3/4 WSW breeze.
Its still worth bring a bite to eat and we will likely stop at HISC for around 45 minutes.
Hi Andy/Chris
I'm really sorry to mess the numbers around, but afraid I now need to pull out of this row due to unforeseen work meetings!
So that's now both Polly and myself out - really sorry!!
Hope you all have a great row and picnic, look forward to seeing you all on Saturday
Matt and Poly
The forecast today is a bit gloomy: grey skies, F 4 winds and a chilly 12° temperature. So I don't think a picnic will be a great deal of fun. I propose we go for a row down harbour and huddle in the nice warm pub afterwards.
