Cutters help reach the MELON Charity targetThank you to all of the Langstone Cutters who turned up today and so generously supported our worthy causes. There were various competitions at the event, and I am pleased to report that
two of our Cutters won prizes! Tom, who is holding his own MacMillan coffee morning on Friday the 28th September, won a cake and so is in danger of being "caked-out" by the end of the week!
Christine won the other prize - very appropriately a much more healthy food - and I'll try and remember to give it to her at tomorrow's row, at the same time as handing over the cheque for the
£173.30 that
matched the amount that the MacMillan Charity benefited from all the generous people (especially the Langstone Cutters) who attended our coffee morning! As it is a separate donation, I intend "Gift Aiding" it so that it should generate a total of about £216.625 for the charity. [I may even round-up the amount so that the total is a "tidier" sum!]
This Wednesday (26th September, 10-00am until 12-00 noon) a MACMILLAN cancer charity
COFFEE MORNING
is being held at our home;
19, Hamilton Close, Langstone. As a means of boosting our own charity [The MELON charity] we shall be contributing an amount, equal to the profit made by the MacMillan charity at this coffee morning, to the MELON charity
As a way of boosting the takings of both charities,
we cordially invite any members or friends of the LANGSTONE CUTTERS to come along to the coffee morning.
Bring cake or biscuits if you like, but make sure you come along and support the charity.
Attached is a summary of how to get to us, and a rough sketch map of where we are in Langstone.
When you find Hamilton Close you will see a house at the "T" junction with solar panels on the roof. That is us.
Please note that if you arrive
after 11-00 o'clock local parking restrictions are in force! if there is space you may park in the driveway.
Remember. Rachel's thermometer is nearly reaching BOILING POINT. With your help we may be able to get up to the target of £2000 - and help put a roof over the heads of these schoolkids!
Looking forward to seeing as many as possible.
Nigel (and Angela)
** if you cannot read the picture text directions, arriving by car at the Langstone roundabout, head towards Hayling then in 50 yards turn left. Then take the second left turn on this (bendy) road - and you are there!
