Update - Box lock now unlockable.

The old lock has been removed (thanks to Nigel for industrial bolt croppers and to Pete whose angle grinder was deployed but not required).  There is a new lock on the box. Same code.  Gill has retrieved her bag so all is well.

My husband and I tried to get the box lock open this afternoon but it is well and truly stuck in the closed position.  Tried some bolt croppers but they wouldn't go near it.  Does anyone in the club have or know anyone that has a battery powered angle grinder that might cut through the hasp with a bit of patience?  Or a friendly locksmith that owes you a favour?
In the meantime - no access to radios so please ensure that boat captains have each others phone numbers.  (also - sorry Gill - can't get to your bag just yet).  Liz

I’ll try and remember to bring my bolt croppers tomorrow…!

Thanks Nigel - our bolt croppers just got dented! I do have a new combination lock which I can bring down tomorrow but will need to find something that has more longevity once we have solved the current problem.

Plenty of WD-40 squirted on the lock and down the shaft of the hook and a couple of gentle hammer taps, should free it up without the damage or hassle of cutting it with an angle grinder.
