Hi all,
I was somewhat stunned by the response to my post on a proposed trip to France next year! However it is brilliant to have so many people keen to go. I have now registered both Galleys and both Claydons for the event and they have all been accepted as part of Flotilla 1 which is for rowed boats of all shapes and sizes. You can see all the boats registered so far by going to https://www.semainedugolfe.com/Les-inscrits-2019-1577-0-0-0.html?&s_491=15&st_491=a I was concerned about the cost of taking the Claydons on their separate trailers as these are expensive on the ferry but this has been slightly improved by the news that if we use the Portsmouth to Caen ferry route there is a 20% discount for event participants. I estimate that it will cost us around £80 pp to get the boats to the Golfe which is not much more than I originally suggested. Some other new information has just been sent out. The translation is not perfect (!) but you can get the gist of it so I though you would like to see it . ... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In a few months we will celebrate together the 10th "Semaine du Golfe du Morbihan"! Water and land are preparing festivities, and here finally is the program we have planned for your fleet. The small sea will be ready to welcome you from the previous weekend. So you can get on the water and check in at the Home Port from Saturday, May 25. PROGRAM Water festivities will be launched on Monday 27 May with in the early evening, joining the fleet of tall ships as a Opening Parade . On Tuesday, May 28 , we give you an appointment at Ile d'Arz for the inevitable lunch under the pines that seals our biennial reunion. Port to port navigations begin on Wednesday morning and will conclude on Saturday with the Grand Parade. DETAILED INFORMATION Organization of arrival times and detailed clickstream, dinner reservations and other necessary details will be announced in the Spring.. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If anyone would like a copy of the original French please say and I will email it to you! I will need to book the boats onto ferries fairly soon and will have to ask for full payment of the ferry fare when I do as the offer requires full payment up front and no refunds! Rachel |

Oui. L'original s'il vous plait!
Conleau will probably be a good choice as it is only a short distance from the bright lights of Vannes. It's across the water from Sene, a little fishing port, from whence our own white egrets probably migrated in the 80's. |

Hi Rachel. Thanks for organising this.
If I can please confirm mine and Christine's intention to be part of the fun. Let me know when you need payment. We have flights booked to Nantes so whatever happens we are now in southern Brittany that week. I note that the flowery camping place also had wooden cabins available, which sound like a really good idea!! Cheers Marcus |
