Members,
You asked the committee to look at alternatives to the boat park if at some point in the future we should lose the use of ours.
At this time there is nothing to suggest we will have to leave our boat park.
The two alternatives we found and stated at the recent EGM.
1. We have found a boat park at Northney Marina. This we would have to pay for, we found no free sites.
2. We have also found an option at Langstone Sailing Club which will mean dissolving our club and starting rowing as members of LSC.
Closing the club was not on your remit.
The EGM committed the club to explore in greater detail how a future with Langstone Sailing Club and LCRC joining together would work and if it would be practical, achievable or desirable in a possible situation where we are no longer able to remain at our current location. In addition, what practical changes would we need to make to our constitution and structure if or when this option might be taken forward.
The secretary has since sent out an email to all members calling for volunteers to assist. This is potentially the single most important 'project' the Club has undertaken and members are urged to consider taking part in some of the working groups; Finance; Constitution; Community; Rowing and Resources. We really need a wide range of views and volunteers - so please step up and let our honourable secretary or myself know if you are willing to help our club.
