Members may not have realised, but due to vandalism by unauthorised visitors last week, the security of the B.P. store unit was compromised. Repairs have now been effected (some minor work to be finished), and so the various items stored there are again reasonably well protected, and may be put back in place.
DO NOT FORCE THE PADLOCK! Please do not leave items out on display on benches, trees etc. It doesn't look good, and may tempt unwanted visitors onto the site! Currently there are at least two sets of nice rowing gloves on the "coffee-table", plus water bottles etc. Global Warming has been a trigger for coastal protection work in our area. Portsmouth has already completed several major new defences and has more in-progress or planned. As a result of this and other city developments there are a new set of proposals for the Tipner area. Why is this of interest? Well, some of the ideas may change our use of the "Back Route" to Portchester Castle and other sites around Portsmouth Harbour. Have a look (sorry about the short notice, but have only just noticed this one!) :- https://www.portsmouth.gov.uk/ext/news/the-future-of-tipner-and-horsea-island |
