What a brilliant days racing at the Celtic Winter League

Saturday 2nd November and the second ever Celtic Winter League event was on, arranged by CRAC and attended by six clubs from the 3 Harbours.

Langstone fielded crews in Ladies, Men’s, Mixed, Ladies Supervets and Super Star Novice categories, finishing 2nd, 2nd, 1st, 2nd and finally a magnificent 1st




A really great day for all involved with boats lined up three abreast on the start line and then racing over a complex kite shaped course providing spectators with an excellent view of all the action as it unfolded.

The catering was simply the best and added to a great atmosphere as the crews renewed acquaintances whilst nervously awaiting their races.

Highlights abounded with all Langstone crews giving their all but the real highlight of the day was the Novice crew race where Jackie, Dave, Sarah and Gill, Coxed by Rachel came home first in a very competive race narrowly pipping Coastal Rowing Academy leading to the instant retirement from competitive rowing by Dave who announced that he is leaving at the very pinnacle of his career😎
