Towing the boats to events

I have towed a few times and generally felt a little apprehensive as I wasn't always happy that I had everything set up correctly.
I'm therefore setting up a small group to write a procedure, or check list, to follow to ensure we are all safe when towing.
The intention is to set up a tow or several, write up what we have done and then enjoy some time on different water.
I would welcome input from experienced towers and those who know the set up and anyone who has the ability to tow and would like to know more.
