2025 potential events

KeithY
Rachel and I have been chatting about two clashing events next year and we wanted to gauge interest in which, if any, members would like to attend.

The La Semaine Du Golfe Du Morbihan in Brittany, France runs from 26th May – 1st June 2025. Rachel is seeking to gain clarity on the courses as the tide races can be extremely challenging on some routes so whether we consider going will be communicated in due course by Rachel.

The Ocean to City in Cork, Southwest Ireland is running on 31st May 2025.  I am happy to coordinate our attendance at this event should we decide to go for it.

Please be aware that whilst both a great fun they can be challenging with the tides, distances (weather – Ireland!), sea state etc.

We don’t need to decide at this stage which boats, how etc this post is really just to gather information as to whether members are interested and if so which would be the preferred event they would like to go to.

Tks.

I will have to go for Morbihan as it seems to be the underdog at the moment.

Dear Kieth

Thanks for your lovely note

I have a slight preference for Cork but am aware Morbihan is every 2 years . Could we look at Morbihan next year and Cork the year after . I am easy either way

With both events we really can only take good rowers . The harbour bit of Cork is not an easy ride and Mobihan can be a challenge

As ever I am very happy to assist with the organising and towing etc . Cork is a good event to take the Solent Galleys too - the Irish love them

Best Wishes Colin
