Sadly, the organisers have said they don't want us rowing along the seafront. And the more I think about sharing the small boat area with a bunch of powerboaters and mad yachties the less I like it. Watching from the beach is probably the best option and will give the best view as well. Anyone for an awayday on the train? With a hamper (still fancy the idea of bubbly)?

The picnic sounds great BUT, if you want to be anywhere near where the action is, you will need to visit

http://www.ticketmaster.co.uk/ACWSPortsmouth

to get some of the remaining free tickets for entry to the site.
They are FREE,(cos' you print them off yourself) unless you wish to part with lots of dosh and pay through the nose for a glass of warm bubbly...!!!!

I ALREADY HAVE 9,    so that should allow me and 8 other "Rowers" in to the site. If we are more than 9 then some of you will need to visit the above site and grab whats left! 1st come 1st served.

Thanks everyone!
We will be able to tout tickets at the door. How much do you think we will be able to charge?
Do we need to supply names for the tickets or do you just need to print them?

Re: America's Cup racing 23-26 July

You need to go through the full online booking process Chris, BUT, the end product, as in the printed ticket, does not have a name on it. Just an A4 sheet including a bar code. Hence it should be transferable.

Email confirmation of the booking does NOT gain admission and you need the paper ticket to gain entry according to Ticketmaster .

Hi Chris, we just print them and they admit one person. Sadly it states on them that they are free so touting may not run. Looking forward to it. Are we arranging to get the same train or a meet at a station? ~ Ron and Cheryl

You're welcome to one or more of my four.

That's a great idea, thanks Mark.
I will be taking the train from Fishbourne which will be stopping at Warblington (coz they stop EVERYWHERE).

Re: America's Cup racing 23-26 July

Hi all having discussed travel with Chris, please see below suggested plan if you are in agreement for us all to go by train together.

Those travelling from Fishbourne
Fishbourne 10:14 to Havant 10:31
Havant 10:46 to Portsmouth Harbour 11:02

Those travelling from Warblington
Warblington 10:29 to Havant 10:31
Havant 10:46 to Portsmouth Harbour 11:02

Those travelling from Havant
Havant 10:46 to Portsmouth Harbour 11:02

Arriving at Portsmouth Harbour at 11:02 would allow us a leisurely stroll along the seafront to the venue (approx 1.5 miles) so we can, hopefully, pick a spot for our picnic with best views.

Maybe an idea to wear best hats to keep sun (or rain) off and show who we are? What do you think?

Re: America's Cup racing 23-26 July

We have at least twenty between us Graham, which we are sharing out.

I have some spare as did Nigel and Rachel.

Or tickets are still available from:

http://www.ticketmaster.co.uk/event/1F004E59979D3981

They have to be printed off onto A4 according to the web site.

If you are not near a printer I will happily order some more?
