Apologies Langstone Lady et al

Greg Spencer
This post was updated on .
My apologies apologies to all for last minute jumping ship to Tudor Sailing Club "Navigator" Ladies crew when their cox unfortunately could not make the race, a call went out for a cox and I offered to take the position.

Burlsedon Gig - a totally different boat with a worked up crew but unknown cox - and they were good, but challenging for me getting into the rhythm of a different crew - !!!

We managed to keep well ahead in the fleet, eventually most (not all) Pilot Gigs overtaking on the last seaward leg, but only one Celtic (Dell Quay) - but of course behind the Mens & Mixed (the class winners) crewed Burlesdon Gigs from start.

....BUT we followed through and won the ECA Fastest Ladies Trophy.

To me it was very pleasing to be able to get these ladies crew on the water who otherwise, without a cox, would have totally missed out on the event and the trophy winning opportunity which now resides in their Club House.

Well done Greg, I heard you did really well yesterday and won a rosette!!

I think it’s great that we all mix in together and help each other out as Three Harbours clubs.

Well done bud, very proud of you, you did great - you should be very proud of yourself too!!

See you soon
Matt

With the leading boats some distance ahead I was able see tide setting these boats across and thus able to avoid some of the set, hence reducing the elapsed time - would have been able to have achieved more with fore knowledge....
