Coastal Rowing Academy Club Celtic Regatta – Saturday 2nd November 2024
Please note the updated times for races. CRAC warmly invites clubs to the second round of the 3 Harbours Celtic Winter Series (CWS) Regattas at Northney Marina on Saturday 2nd November 2024. Below is a summary of the key information, more details will follow very shortly. Races -Open Novices race (for people who are fairly new to rowing, or have been rowing a little while but have not rowed competitively in a race before) -Ladies CWS race -Mens/Open CWS race -Mixed CWS race (2 males and 2 females) -Ladies Supervets Race (all rowers aged 55+ as per WSR rules) All races governed and managed along Welsh Sea Rowing Rules. Race Course The “Saltings” course is a 1.25 nautical mile, or 2.3km circuit in Chichester Harbour; from the Hayling Bridge eastwards through the New Cut; west through Church Rythe and around the Saltings to the A mark near the Marina North Slip. Finishing boats head to the beach for crew changes. Each race takes around 20 minutes to complete. There will be a shortened course for the Novices race, starting from a Bouy mark round to the Finish - a distance of some 0.85 nautical miles/ 1.57km. Further details including course map available shortly. Race Order and Timings Races to be a time trial, run in two heats with a maximum of four boats starting in lanes, the heats starting 5 minutes apart. Every boat will be timed individually to decide overall ranking over the two heats of each race category. Provisional Timings 8:30 Breakfast & Registration 9:15 Cox & Crew Briefing 10:00 Ladies points race 10:45 Mens/Open points race High Water 11:44 12:00 Lunch/BBQ available from this time and throughout the afternoon. 11:30 Mixed points race 12:15 Supervet Ladies race 13:00 Novices race 13:30 Boats recovered 14:15 Presentations Catering CRAC will be providing a selection of hot drinks throughout the day. Hot and cold breakfast options will be available from 8:30am. Lunch from 12:00 (planned options of BBQ, soup and toasties). Donated cakes will be available to purchase throughout. Hi Rachel
Just a quick question about Saturday. I take it we park in car park on left, if there is space, if not where else can we park. Also not been round that way really so where is the club to meet up and facilities. Thanks Steph |
