Hi all,
Please could you all arrive at Chichester Yacht Club between 8.45 and 9am on Saturday to register and help us launch Sweare Deep. Chris, Lynn, Tim and I will load her in Langstone and tow her round.

They have just introduced car park charges which are £4 for 4 to 6 hours!! So it is well worth car sharing if you can.

Tea, coffee and bacon baps are available from 9am and there is a Buffet from 13.00
Briefing, which it would be good to have everyone there for, is at 9.30am

Life jackets must be worn on their pontoon so please bring yours if you have one or post below if not so we can sort out whether we have enough.

Please keep an eye on this post for updates if the weather changes plans

Here is the information they have sent for us to look at before we arrive. It will be explained at the briefing

Starting Line and Procedure

Start line is a transit from flag pole and yellow pole on the shore in front of the race hut. The outer end is the second green Marina channel marker.

Boats will start at two-minute intervals.  The order of starting is the same for each flight.

A warning horn will be sounded two minutes before the first start of each flight with flag F displayed on the flag pole

A horn will then be sounded at two-minute intervals to indicate each start.

Crews will be informed by the Race Officer on the radio when they are the next to start.

All crews must cross the line promptly after the sound signal is made.
Their time will be recorded as the bow crosses the line.

At the finish, times will be taken as a boat’s bow crosses the line and signalled with a hoot.

Elapsed times will be calculated and displayed in the Sloop if possible.

Detailed Starting Procedure

RACE1: Men’s
• 0958: 2 minutes before the first start of a flight warning hoot + flag F                     raised on the mast by race hut.
• 1000: Start hoot for Chichester boat. Flag F comes down
• 1002: Start hoot for Langstone boat
• 1004: Start hoot for Dell Quay boat
• 1006: Start hoot for Itchenor boat
• 1008: Start hoot for Emsworth boat

This would be repeated for successive flights at hourly intervals with Warning Hoots at :
Race 2 1058: Women’s A
Race 3 1158: Women’s B
Race4 1258: Mixed

Looking forward to this!

Rachel
