Blessing of the Boats - Sunday 19 April 2026

Liz Walmsley
Our annual Blessing of the Boats Ceremony will be held on Sunday 19th April 2026.  All members and their families/friends are very welcome and encouraged to attend this fun event.   Please be at the boatpark by 1145. The short service and blessing of all our boats will be conducted at 1200 by Canon Tom Kennar.

Frances will be coordinating refreshments and will post for volunteers in due course (please have some cash for voluntary donations).

There may be the opportunity for some fun rowing after the ceremony.

Our local rowing clubs will also be invited to bring one of their boats.

It would be useful to know approximate numbers so please put it in your diaries now and post here if you plan to attend.

Matt will be posting to organise a boat park tidy up in the week prior to the event – all members are encouraged to help out.

Thank you
Liz

I'll be there,  and early,  setting up urn and tea table etc, thank you Jo for your offer of help,  gratefully received,  it's usually busy,  and good fun! A few more offers of help with serving refreshments on the day would be welcome.
I'll put a general call out for cake making a bit nearer the time

I hope to be able to come, and also do gardening etc beforehand. I'm sorry I can't help on the day because of church commitments.
