Cobstock

mark taylor
The message below  appeared in the last cutters newsletter, but I cant find anywhere on the forum to post an interest. So Frances and Mark are happy to help out on this, does anyone else have any more details of times etc?

· June 2nd Cobstock event. Last year we took 3 St Ayles Skiffs from Oarsome Chance and LAR. We

provided crews and coaching and were busy all day. This year they have asked again if we can go – we are very popular. The LAR Skiffs are in Venice that weekend so Chris Judd has arranged for the St Ayles Skiffs from IBTC to attend – Little Victory and Little Warrior in their ‘dazzle’ paint strip. Again if a number of Cutters would like to go and help Cobstock guests learn to row; it gets you on the water, promotes the Club and gives you free entry to the Cobstock Festival in the evening – live bands and a bar… it was great fun last year. 6

people are needed to help with this event – please post your interest. A ‘tower’ would also help.

Shanaz and other Cutters thinking about supporting Cobnor Activity Centre at Cobstock - showing people how to row in the St Ayles Skiffs (and getting free entry into the Cobstock festival)...

  • I will deliver one Skiff tomorrow - Wednesday - It will be Little Warrior or Little Victory; the IBTC built boats with teh dazzle paint finish, nice oars and floorboards - so easy to use and row.
  • Oarsome Chance will deliver the other (Little Victory or Little Warrior ) on Friday.
  • Chris Judd will meet you there  and liaise with Gary Palmer the  Centre Manager;
  • the idea is to take a boat out every hour (staggered every half hour) to demonstrate the ease and fun it is... the visitors will include people who came last year and new people as well... it is fun!!
I do need to tell Gary Palmer who is coming as he will have 'wristbands' for all the supporters so they can stay the rest of the day and into the evening performances.

Chris Judd will arrange to get one boat back on Sunday or Monday; I will collect the other on Wednesday.

Last call then for rowers to help us promote our fun rowing stuff to a new audience in Cobnor... post here!!
