Re: Falling tree in compound: work party Monday?

Michael Gilbert

I have spoken with Richard and agreed we can remove the dangerous tree. We need a chain saw (or two) and helpers.

Meanwhile; we stay away form the tree that looks precarious and operate from the front end of the boat park only.

Looking ahead, the only days that looks possible are Sunday; Monday or possible Thursday... but we have more wet/windy fronts coming through.

I am away Saturday; will back Sunday pm to help; or Monday and Thursday I can help all day.

Who can help when? it might need more than one session.

Please respond with day and a couple of hours you are willing and able?

Mike

I can help on Sunday and/or Monday at anytime.  Also found my small chainsaw still works after not using it for 2 years.

I’m around and happy to help around 10:30 Monday morning, if that helps.
I also have a fairly decent (electric) chainsaw etc. a mate is borrowing at mo. but can get it back off him if required, and we can run an extension lead for it to Mikes?
Let me know, and I can organise it.
Thanks
Matt

Apologies from me for today, Sunday. Realistically I'm not going to be back from Torquay until 4pm...

Will be around Monday to make a start...

Hi guys, it’s 09:45 and I’ve only just picked this up to see we are meeting at 10:00!
Obviously, I’m not going to be able to get there on time by train from Chichester and it’s a bit short notice to get my chainsaw back from my friend too.
Let me know if you have another day penned in the diary for it, once you’ve had a look at it today. And I can arrange chainsaw etc. then.
Thanks
Matt

Hi Matt, all sorted at the boat park so no need to worry about coming over at another time. See you soon.

Vernon and Michael broke up the tree in danger of falling our boats... thank you!!!

In the process 3 other dead trees were damaged and felled.
I have spoken with Richard. He is content with what we have done.

Had asked that we lower to the ground, the stumps that are left. Chop up the remaining logs and remove... leave as little evidence as possible  - he would like some if the logs on his log pile!

Message was 'well done'...

We can now move the boats and trailers to the back again...
