GRR 2024

Claire Tomlinson
Just wanted to say a big thank you to everyone involved in getting us race ready!
Rachel for registering us all and indulging me by letting us be Langstone Kingfishers, we were that flash of blue along the river!
To all the towers and Keith for sorting towing etc out at Ham and Mo for the coach.
The bosuns for getting the boats race ready and repair jobs after the race!
Just shows what a great community club we are and the residents of high street asking how we got on and looking out for us on the tv
To coin a phrase we always use at school… so much more than we are so much more than a club!
Looking forward to frosty winter rows hot chocolate and tea cakes at Emsworth!
Nigel I hope you will soon be back in the water with us.
Keep Rowing! 🚣🚣🚣

Well said Claire,
Great words, and a great day - thank you all, for all the hard work and effort that went into making it a great day!!

Special thanks also to Richard B, for thoroughly preparing our boat a week or two in advance, and to Chris W for towing her down….Team Gladys couldn't have done what we do best without you guys!!

What a great post Claire, our flash of blue will always remind me of Kingfishers now! I loved the way everyone worked together loading and unloading the boats, recovering them after the race and helping lots of other clubs too. I think Mo deserves a medal for all the work she did organising the coach for four local clubs! Thank you to all the towers who towed to Ham and got the boats onto the water and brought them home safely, and a special thank you to Colin for towing our precious Galleys all the way to Millwall and somehow getting them unloaded to be waiting for us when we arrived. I enjoyed every moment of yesterday, what a lovely club to be part of, how lucky are we!

Great post Claire. What a fabulous day we had, which would not have been possible without a lot of time, effort and work, completed by a lot of people in the background, some of whom didnt even compete or travel up, but supported those of us who did. Special thanks to the towers, you were really appreciated. Not an easy task. And thanks Mo for sorting the coach. Great to meet other local club members and travel up together.
It was a very special day and one the club should be rightly proud to have competed in.
